Renfe train classes explained: what’s the difference between each travel option?

Choosing a Renfe ticket is not only about finding the right departure time.

The fare and the seat are not exactly the same thing.

On eligible AVE and long-distance services:

Elige → Standard or Comfort

Prémium → Comfort seat

Standard seats generally use a 2+2 configuration, while Comfort seats offer more space and are generally arranged in a 2+1 configuration, although the exact configuration depends on the train.
